    Wireless Sensor Networks are used for various sensitive applications like in military operations, health care and for surveillance in smart cities etc. Thus security in WSN is an important concern which provides secure routing of data from source to destination. Although, several works have been done in this area but they are less successful in providing both strong security as well as low computational complexity at a time. In this paper a novel security algorithm for WSN has been proposed to provide data confidentiality by protecting the network from various attacks. In proposed algorithm, each nodes are assigned a unique number (here integer number between 1 and N). The sensed data at each node is encrypted and decrypted based on this unique number. However its disadvantage is that it consumes more energy and memory. Second cryptographic technique is the modified form of the above model, here the sensed data is encrypted and decrypted randomly between 1 and N/2, 1 and N/4, this modified version overcomes the above mentioned shortcomings. Here N is the number of nodes. This security protocol defend against various attacks and enables data confidentiality. We implement this algorithm using MATLAB simulator.​
